Smart Boy!

Well, we've got quite the smart little guy. He's allready figured out that the spoon goes in his mouth. During the day when September feeds Liam she lets him hold his own little spoon in his hand. The other day we decided to see what he would do with it if it had food on it. We put food on it and put it in his hand. It went straight to his eye. He hit his bottom lid and left a blop of food there. Then he moved it and it all got stuck on his chin. I wish I had caught the first try on camera, but I am glad I got the second one.

After that he got it right to his mouth 90% of the time. We are very impressed. It wasn't a one time thing either, because he's does it every time he eats now. It doesn't go as quickly, so partway through he doesn't want to wait for it so we feed him the rest. He is allso starting to be able to sit up. He doesn't sit up by himself, but once we set him up he can stay balanced. We still watch him just in case though.

We pulled out the Christmas decorations on Monday night, and decorated Tuesday night. Here is Liam meeting the Bumble for the first time.

First Food

We gave Liam his very first spoon-fed meal yesterday. There's a picture and a video. I'm still amazed that I'm actually a father. It's amazing how much this little guy means to me already. He's outgrown several more of his sleepers this week. I'm going to miss a couple of them because they're so cute on him. He's still a very happy baby, and he makes lots of happy noise. We consider ourselves very lucky that he doesn't cry all that often.

First Haloween

We didn't get around to making costumes for ourselves because we were more excited about making one for Liam. In the end we decided to dress Liam up as a red pikmin. Pikmin is a video game for the nintendo game cube. It's quite a fun little game. I've added a picture of some pikmin so that you can compare.

Here are a few more pics. We've taken several that we really like this week. The last picture was taken today. Liam was trying to eat his feet, and he was getting pretty close to getting his big toe in his mouth. I tried to snap a picture of it, and it turned out pretty cute. September got a sound recording of Liams giggles. We're trying to figure out how to get it onto the blog because it is so cute, but that will be another day.

Baby Giggles are the Best

We gave Liam a bath today after we finished eating dinner. As I was getting him undressed he was kicking away with his legs and waving his little arms with a great big gummy smile. I always get him ready for his bath while September gets the bathwater ready. I'm pretty sure he recognises the sounds and sights, because he always gets excited. After his bath September had him giggling. It's the cutest thing in the world. September gets to hear him more often than I do simply because I'm at work when he does it the most. You can really see how orange his hair looks in some light in the one picture. It really depends on the lighting.

Babies are definately not ugly

So I had a very strange discussion with someone the other day. They were saying how they didn't like babies because they were ugly. His reasoning behind this was that they were disproportionate; their heads were way too big for their bodies. I was amazed. Having those proportions is what makes babies so incredibly cute! Ever seen a baby with adult proportions? I'm kinda tempted to do a quick photoshop job to show the difference... On second thought... no, I don't think I'll do that.

Squeals

Well, we finally got a few squeaks on camera. You'll also get to hear September and I trying to get him to talk from behind the camera. It's truly amazing how much joy the little guy brings. It's our wedding anniversary today. We've been married two years now. Marrying September was honestly the best choice I've ever made. Since then, having Liam has been the best choice that we've made as a couple. Here are two more pictures we've taken. The one is just one we snapped of him chewing on his fingers. The other one was taken about ten minuets ago of him in his new jolly jumper. Even though the box called it a 'bumper jumper' they will always be called a jolly jumper. (kinda like band-aids are band-aids no matter what brand they are.)

Mobile

Liam is starting to grab stuff more often. Today he got ahold of his little blue dog and spent some time sucking on the ears and legs. We think he really likes the colour blue because he went after his little blue dog when given a choice. Allso, when he is watching his mobile he tends to follow the blue frog that is on it. He loves the mobile, and talks to it allot. He's getting more vocal, and it's sometimes hard to tell if he's happy or complaining untill you watch his little facial expressions. So when he's in his cradle, (and we're getting stuff done nearby) we're constantly checking to see if he's having fun or if he's ready to come out.

Video!

Ha Ha! a sucessfull video! I still havn't been able to get any other videos uploaded. This pic was taken just before I started doing this post. The video was done yesterday. September meant to take a picture of him sticking out his tongue. She took a short video instead. It's only 2 seconds long, but it's cute.

Liam is getting bigger by day, as well as showing more personality. He's now ten and a half weeks old and last we measured him he was 23 inches long. September and I are loving parenthood. All of us are getting a bit more sleep too. It's quite nice. Here are a couple pictures we've taken over the last few weeks.

This one was from two weeks ago when I was playing with him and put him up on my shoulders.

Then this one is from the other day when September had him happy and smiling. It took several attempts to get a good one.

This is one from the first day he found his thumb. We had him in his swing when I got back from work and he was trying to find it again. The only problem was that he was holding his thumb down with his fingers, so he couldn't get it in his mouth. We took the picture of him chasing his thumb.

Today we had him dressed up in his first outfit to go to church. Before now he allways just wore sleepers and onesies.

I'm still working at ACRONYM making video games and loving it. I've got the best job in the world.

Introducing... Liam!

Well, our little munchkin turns two months old tomorrow. I know we're biased, but he really is the cutest little guy. We've got hit in his little swing at the moment. He only likes it for a bit at a time before he wants out. He doesn't cling to September as much any more. That means that I get to hold him more now that he'll put up with me. Even so, most of the time he's only happy with me if I'm up and walking around. I was just talking to my Mom and telling her about how much Liam loves to sneeze. He'll sneeze and then get this big happy smile. Then there are the times that he'll sneeze once or twice and then, expecting to sneeze again, he'll give a little 'whaaa-ah-ooo'.

Our Little Family

I'm horrible at keeping these things up. My wife is good at helping me remember to do the things I plan on doing. Yes, I'm a procrastinator. We plan on trying to update this blog at least once a week. Sundays or Mondays, but I make no promises.

Welcome to our blog. Now that we have our bundle of joy we have a good reason to keep things updated.

PS... I just used the spell checker. No misspellings found. For me, that's amazing.
